The purpose of the article is to study the methodology and pedagogical technologies for transforming the training of university students in the context of the digitalization of society. In the course of the study, the following tasks were solved: the factors that influenced the deterioration of the ecological situation in the modern world were analyzed; ways of solving environmental problems based on foreign and domestic experience; the activity of a regional university, aimed at the formation of the ecological consciousness of future specialists, is considered. A hypothesis has been put forward that it is possible to solve the problems of our time, including environmental ones, only through the formation of the environmental consciousness of future specialists on the basis of the use of the latest technologies. The authors used theoretical and empirical research methods: generalization, analysis, synthesis, comparison, observation, expert survey. The article examines the features, forms and mechanisms of the formation of the ecological consciousness of students of Russian universities. The study showed that in order to minimize the destructive impact of modern technologies on nature and society, it is necessary to strengthen the ecological orientation of education. The authors define a new range of ethical, environmental and organizational problems caused by the impact of the pandemic on the educational process.
