The article examines the relationship between cognitive and motor skills of children with intellectual disabilities and the possibility of correcting them using the developed motor training on TRX loops. Scientific novelty: It has been theoretically proven that the TRX loop sports equipment is a multifunctional simulator with which it is possible to influence many segments of the musculoskeletal system and provide neuromotor interconnection of brain structures, which is especially important for a child with an intellectual disability. Given the inconsistency of movement control mechanisms at the level of neurodynamics, motor action is perceived and reproduced by a child with mental retardation differently than in a healthy one. Assessment of the level of sensorimotor reactions is one of the indicators of the development of the human motor sphere and correlates with the development of cognitive processes. Practical significance: this work is useful for teachers, physical education instructors of correctional schools throughout Russia. Research materials and methods. The study involved 80 children aged 13-14 years with mild mental retardation, who were divided into 2 groups. Classes were held in courses for 2 months, 2 times a week. The frequency of the course was twice a year. To evaluate the effectiveness of the technique, 2 tests were used: a simple visual-motor reaction and a choice reaction test.
Results. A study of sensorimotor parameters in children with mild mental retardation revealed the inertia of nervous processes in the test of simple visual-motor reaction and an intermediate type in the test of choice reaction. After 2 courses of work (1 year), according to the indicators, there is a positive trend towards a decrease in reaction time in the participants of the experimental group, however, no statistically significant differences in the results of the groups were revealed.
Conclusion. In children with a mild degree of mental retardation, the inertia of nervous processes was revealed in the test of a simple visual-motor reaction and an intermediate type in the test of a choice reaction. It is necessary to continue the work and evaluate the data after another 2-4 courses.
