The purpose of this paper is to describe an integrated approach to the design of engineering systems, where the digital information model (BIM-model) of the construction object is used as the information basis, and scripts created in the Dynamo visual programming environment are used to improve the efficiency of design processes. The hypothesis of the study is that this approach reduces labor costs and improves the quality of documentation, which, as a result, creates the prerequisites for being a success in supporting the remaining stages of the life cycle of a construction object. The study has used such methods as a comparative analysis, modeling, observation, conducting a full-scale experiment. The created approach had been successfully implemented in one of the design companies in Yekaterinburg.
