The article is devoted to the analysis of heuristic opportunities of basic sociological approaches to researching youth safety culture. It is defined in line with resource approach as one of decisive factors of sustainable development of society. The youth is regardred as the specific social group included in all spheres and levels of society functioning. This distribution is reflected in the way of resolving the safety problem by authorities. As a rule, they consider it according to narrow departmental tasks. It is shown that an integrated approach to youth social safety problem can be built up on the edge of comprehension the safety being introduced from the outside - "security" and at the same time being inherent in the object -"safety" itself. Within the system approach the necessary youth safety culture components - valuable complexes, legal restrictions, social organizations, management systems can be distinguished. The process approach allows to study phases and stages of security policy realization; the activity approach examines special type of attitude towards danger and risk and the result of its realization in society understood as stable and fair development of society; the institutional approach looks into identity, integrative, protective and stabilizing functions of youth safety culture.
