The article analyzes the evolution of approaches to the design of the subject-spatial component of the educational environment. The object of research: factors and requirements for the design of school furniture, its impact on the organization of space and the quality of the learning process, the physical and mental state of students. The characteristics of furniture are determined, and recommendations are given on its design for schools in accordance with the new requirements for the educational process.
