A silicon carbide powder has been fabricated from worked-out articles of grade KN. The properties of a mortar based on it for the lining of a multisection heating furnace of a TPA 30-102 mill are described. Specifications TU 1521-001-02069208-94 for silicon carbide mortar of grade MKK-70 have been developed for optimum compositions.
