Optical methods of polarization microscopy, refractometry and infrared spectroscopy have been employed to investigate the effect of magnesium sulphate on the processes of molecular ordering of hydrated phosphatidyl choline. Changes in the parameters of structure apparently governed by the modifying role of magnesium cations and sulphate groups have been established.
