Design principles are considered for the power supply systems of induction furnaces operating at moderate frequency. It is expedient to use multiinverter frequency converters, permitting more effective moderate-frequency melting of the metals and reduction in installed power of the equipment. Methods of controlling the smelting processes are proposed and implemented on the basis of multiinverter frequency converters and digital control systems. The industrial introduction of inductive-heating systems in modern smelting equipment is considered.
