N2 - The high-field (critical field 39.5 T at 4.2 K) single-step metamagnetic transition was observed in the b axis of single crystal of TbCu2 and its temperature evolution was studied. The transition is described by a single-ion Hamiltonian taking into account higher order crystal-field terms significantly contributing to the magnetocrystalline anisotropy.
