Effect of N+ and Ar+ ion implantation on structure and mechanical properties of turbine compressor blades from EI1961 type steel with (Ti,Zr)N coating is investigated. It is shown, that the better stability of the steel properties under high-speed impact action is given by short-term implantation. Continuous implantation provides a maximum fatigue strength under cyclic tests.
