The interest for sustainable power sources worldwide has increased immense examination consideration over the previous decades. Various renewable energy technologies such as solar and wind have been reported and widely explored. However, many renewable sources of energy except hydropower are intermittent in nature and hence required storage systems. Energy storage and use for the long time is the most important technology to the future energy sector. Among different storage frameworks, supercapacitors are considered as a promising energy storage device for not only renewable energy but also for portable devices and hybrid vehicles owing to its high-power density. Supercapacitor electrodes are perpetually made from carbon sources derived from biomass. This book chapter is mainly focused on understanding the degree to which various sorts of biomasses that have been utilized as permeable carbon materials for use in supercapacitor anodes. Moreover, this chapter has been briefly discussed about the effect of the capacitance with respect to the morphology in symmetric and asymmetric capacitors.
