The magnetization has been measured for aligned powder samples Y(Co1-xFex)3 with x ≤ 0.15 in fields up to 40 T. The anomalous change of the uniaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy through the deep minimum at x = 0.1 and the field direction dependence of the two Co metamagnetic transition fields to a stronger ferromagnetic state are explained in terms of the occurrence of two metamagnetic transitions on different Co sites with opposite anisotropy energies.
