Investigation results of optically- and thermally stimulated luminescence (OSL and TL) of thin nanostructured films and nanopowders of aluminum oxide, including iron impurity, obtained by target evaporation by pulse electron beam and deposition on glass and steel substrates are presented. X-ray phase analysis showed that the obtained Al 2O 3 films have amorphous-nanocrystalline structure with varying content of γ-Al 2O 3. It is established that the OSL and TL yield is affected by the ratio of amorphous and γ- phase in the Al 2O 3 layers. Annealing up to 700 oC increases concentration of the у-phase and OSL/TL-response. It is found that the OSL/TL-yields of the most emission-active samples are comparable with those for the detectors based on anion-defective corundum. Doping with iron impurity essentially suppresses TL and OSL of the samples under study.
