Several methods of determining the conventional standard potential of alloys are examined. It is shown how this value can be used for calculating the deposition of potential electronegative metals from molten halides on electrodes made of various low-melting metals for determining their compatibility with molten electrodes, as well as for estimating the partition coefficients of elements in the electrochemical reactions where liquid-metal electrodes are used.
