The article presents the author’s vision of it support for the implementation of a balanced empirical mechanism of the system of strategic analysis and forecasting of the activities of copper industry enterprises. To do this, the authors consistently solve the following tasks: 1) the concept of a balanced-empirical mechanism is introduced and briefly described; 2) the element structure of the balanced-empirical mechanism is disclosed and flowcharts of its implementation are presented; 3) the application of a balanced-empirical mechanism for strategic analysis and forecasting of the activities of copper industry enterprises for the purpose of substantiating the directions of implementation of strategic programs is proposed; 4) the use of a single information space formed on the corporate portal platform as a base for implementing automation of the system of strategic analysis and forecasting of the activities of copper industry enterprises is justified; 5) the author’s vision of the corporate portal structure within the framework of providing automation of the system of strategic analysis and forecasting of copper industry enterprises is presented and briefly described; 6) the block diagram of the process of automation of strategic analysis and forecasting of copper industry enterprises is presented. When writing the paper, we used methods of comparative analysis and generalization of information obtained from various sources. As a result, the author’s vision of it support for the system of strategic analysis and forecasting of the activities of enterprises in the copper industry, implemented through a balanced empirical mechanism, is formulated. At the same time, the it infrastructure is based on a single information space (corporate portal) as a structured basis for automating the organization and implementation of calculations. The provisions and conclusions of the presented work can be applied by the management of metallurgical holdings, metallurgical clusters and individual copper industry enterprises for the purpose of updating approaches to strategic analysis and forecasting of companies ‘ activities, as well as by regional Executive authorities to identify areas for increasing the investment attractiveness of the region.
