The force exerted by highly coercive permanent magnets (made from alloys of rare-earth metals) used as rectangular prisms in magnetic systems is considered. Calculation results and experimental data for magnets grouped on the basis of the residual induction are compared. The influence of the distance between adjacent magnets in the system on the force between the highly coercive permanent magnets is demonstrated. © Allerton Press, Inc. 2009.
