N2 - Computer technologies and the advantages of their daily use in the period of global changes have become not only a weak, but also a potentially dangerous link in the security field of every person. Information has become the most vulnerable area in contemporary society as well as the means and methods to provide it and check its integrity and veracity. Since information security and cybersecurity issues are important aspects of technology development, information security specialists have to understand the content of key terms and their differences. To understand the range of spheres where the terms are used, a comparative frequency analysis of the language units 'information security', 'cybersecurity', 'cyber security' (English) and 'information security', 'cybersecurity' (Russian) was carried out on an array of English and Russian-language printed sources and phrases or words that make up the semantic core were selected. The used resources allowed the author to obtain the first factual data, at the same time, the result of the analyses is a new task to select a more accurate resource for analyzing both the frequency of terms usage and the semantic content of definitions in both Russian and English.
