The authors explore what impact E. Mach’s “The Analysis of Sensations” had on literature and philosophy at the time. Mach’s criticism of Kantian theory is demonstrated to reflect Austrian philosophical traditions. The authors also discuss F. Mauthner’s critique of language in regard with E. Mach’s theory.
