In this study, an econometric assessment of the influence of factors of innovative activity of Russian manufacturing enterprises was carried out based on a modification of the CDM model designed to assess the relationship between R&D-innovation-labor productivity and the factors between them. Due to the raw material orientation of the Russian economy and geopolitical difficulties, increasing innovation activity in the country is a pressing issue. At the same time, the study of variations in the effects of factors of innovative activity of enterprises with different technological intensity has been poorly studied in the literature, especially in Russia. We fill this gap using data from the Business Environment and Enterprise Performance Surveys for 2019 for Russian manufacturing enterprises. The model included both general (individual characteristics) and specific (competition, availability of government support, business environment, internal and external human capital, innovative cooperation and production factors) factors for each stage. The econometric assessment identified both positive and negative impacts of various R&D and innovation factors that varied between low-, medium- and high-tech enterprises. The theoretical significance of the study lies in the expansion and deepening of scientific knowledge about approaches to studying the influence of factors of innovative activity of enterprises. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using the results obtained by government bodies to improve innovation policy, and by enterprises when developing strategic development plans and measures to increase innovation activity and competitiveness.
