The analysis of the dynamics of the publication activity of Russia in the field of energy and fuel (E&F) for 2008-2017 is presented. Seven Web of Science Core Collection (WoS) databases, the InCites analytical tool, and the Russian Science Citation Index - Clarivate (RSCI-C) database located on the WoS platform were used as data sources. It is shown that the world flow of E&F for 2008-2017. increased 3.1 times, while in all world information flow - only 1.4 times. The volume of papers in the world on E&F amounted to more than 406.2 thousand, and in Russia - 6.7 thousand. Despite the decrease in the rank of the Russian Academy of Sciences among the leading E&F world organizations from the 5th in 2008 to the 18th in 2017, the share of its papers in the journals of the first and second quartiles amounted to 80% of its array on this issue in 2017. The citation rates of Russian publications on E&F are significantly lower than the corresponding values for leading E&F countries. A significant difference was found in the distribution of leading organizations according to WoS-CC and RSCI-C, respectively. A negative factor is the small number of papers by Russian authors with traditional co-authors from Germany and the USA. The international scientific cooperation of Russia in the field of E&F is less intense than in the whole of the Russian Federation.
