The article is based on the analysis of more than 45 Russian public buildings of1998-2018. The main directions of work of Russian authors with architectural concepts are highlighted. The prevalence of historicizing and vernacular architecture is shown. Four variants of working with historical material on the specific examples are analyzed. The difference in the conceptual shaping of the public buildings architecture in this period in Russia and abroad, including in relation to historical traditions, has beenformulated.
