The author explores the reasons for change in Russia's security policy in Central Asia by analyzing leading experts' opinions. The author argues that this reconsideration of policy was determined by both national and international factors and resulted in growing influence of Russia in the region. The author concludes that fight against international terrorism is now at the center of Russian activities in Central Asia.
