The article addresses the performative practices of the informal art group "Kartinnik" (Sverdlovsk-Ekaterinburg), which used the stylistic features of Russian 17th-19th century skomorokh theater. The researcher focuses on one of the least studied aspects of Russian regional underground - the shows and performances of the art group "Kartinnik" in the 1980s - 2000s. Their practices reinterpret the ideas and traditions of street and fair shows of the Early Modern and Modern era that characterized the informal Russian art scene in that period.
