A study of the stated issues was conducted in three stages: (1) the study of theoretical and methodological aspects of the application of modern educational technologies in teaching economic disciplines (on the example of educational games and video games in online and offline modes); (2) the offline implementation of a pedagogical experiment based on the author's methodology of complex diagnostics, including a combination of objective and subjective indicators of the educational process quality, in the period 2017-2022 among students of a number of universities of Yekaterinburg; (3) conducting a mass online survey in the period of May - June 2023 among Russian university students, with approximately equal gender distribution. Data processing was carried out on the basis of Google docs, Microsoft Excel, Statistica. The theoretical aspects and specifics of the use of educational games, cases and video cases in the system of pedagogical technologies are considered. It is shown that games and cases make it possible to identify and form values and culture in the process of cross-cultural communication, as well as to develop students' creative and cognitive abilities in an informal setting. The specifics of the use of pedagogical technologies in the process of teaching disciplines in areas related to economics and management at the university are revealed. It is shown that the scientific school in this field is at the stage of its active formation. When conducting a pedagogical experiment to test the result of professional training of students by means of pedagogical technologies (educational business game, educational case and educational video case), the authors selected a control group (CG), where training was conducted in the traditional way, and an experimental group (EG) of students studying in various economic fields in different universities of the city of Yekaterinburg, where there were pedagogical technologies have been applied in various classes (author's educational business game, educational case and educational video case). According to the results of the pedagogical experiment, objective and subjective indicators of the quality of the educational process in CG and EG were evaluated, which showed the obvious advantage of using pedagogical technologies in the educational process. A massive survey in Google.docs showed that students approve of the use of digital technologies in higher education, as over 70 % of respondents claim that digital technologies can improve the efficiency of the educational process. It is revealed that students like the most in the process of studying at the university those features that are also inherent in modern educational technologies (educational games, cases and video cases): obtaining practical skills in the profession (43.5 %); the possibility of comprehensive development (37.9 %); communication with peers (36.8 %); development of personal, creative innovative ideas (30.1 %); interactive forms of learning (25.7 %); the opportunity to work in a team (25.2 %); project training (14.5 %). It is shown that students have a positive attitude to distance education, which has a number of advantages: (1) the opportunity to study without leaving home (71.5 % of respondents); (2) novelty in learning technology (28.2 %); (3) teamwork (25.0 %); (4) online viewing of videos and feature films (23.7 %); (5) participation in collective discussions (22.8 %), At the same time, the majority (52.0 %) claim that they like the hybrid form of education more. It is established that when choosing educational programs, students pay attention to the rating (prestige, brand) of the university and the quality of educational programs. At the same time, the desired form of online courses for students are presentations with videos and films (53.6 % of respondents) and practical cases (38.4 %). The data obtained by the authors can be useful in the development of pedagogical technologies, educational programs, courses, as well as in the development of solutions related to university budgeting and the choice of optimal directions of digital educational technologies (EdTech).
