The article analyzes the student’s publishing project of creating the book “Her Life” as an example of practiceoriented activities carried out during college year. The publishing project was based on the book written by A. G. Korevanova “My Life”. The reasons for the choice of material for reprinting, the diffi culties in the process of working on the project, the advantages and disadvantages of conducting project activities in the publishing sector are indicated. The project activity is considered as a type of training on the basis of the Department of Publishing of the Ural Federal University and the Publishing House of the Ural University.
