The article describes a transformation of a critical discourse analysis and values interpretation in the Austrian literature and philosophy. The focus is on H. Broch, K. Kraus and F. Ebner’s writings in the period before 1914 and in the inter-war period. The article also discusses cultural context of identity formation which shaped the specifi c view of critique of language and axiological debates.
