The article is devoted to the names of forest and forest loci associated with economic and commercial human activity. Lexemes of dialects of the European North of Russia are analyzed in terms of the origin of words and their semantic connections. The complex of dialect lexemes reflecting the internal form of property relations is considered. The models of nomination, historically correlated with different stages of development of property relations in Russia, are revealed. The lexemes nominating ways of distribution of forest plots between owners are analyzed. A group of dialect words related to the protection of forest land is singled out. The nominations correlating the name of the forest area with fishing activity are described. The characteristics of the hunter's occupations, which lie in the internal form of names, and actions of animals, reflected as nominative signs, which are the basis of the lexemes, are determined. It highlights names of characters of borders forest land plots. Names of the sites of the wood intended for cutting down and left for the purpose of reproduction of the woodland are revealed. The group of lexemes with the semantics ‘forest for construction’ is defined as the most important for dialect speaker. Anthropocentric vision of the forest is interpreted through the analysis of the names of forest areas by location relative to the objects of agriculture, the possibility of human movement, orientation significance. The lexemes nominating the forest as a source of charcoal, resin, materials for weaving are analyzed. «Food» value of forest resources is revealed through the study of nominations of berry and mushroom places. The forest as a locus that is dangerous to the person, in language embodiment is connected with the mythological space. Rare figurative models reflect the attention of the nominator to various features of the forest locus.
