FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is intended to determine filtering properties of porous ceramic filters in the form of cylinders with side filtering surface on molten mixture of halogenides of alkali metals, for example, sodium and potassium chlorides of equimolar composition with content of unmelted fine oxides. Device for determining filtering properties of ceramic filters comprises working quartz cell for arrangement of filtered medium in form of molten halogenides of alkali metals of equimolar composition with content of unfused fine oxides, quartz tube installed in the cell for holding the tested filter in the form of a porous ceramic material in the form of a cylinder with a side filtering surface, wherein the sample is fixed by means of sealing seals, a quartz capillary for sampling the filtrate, a bubbler tube for stirring the filtered medium, a heating element for creating and maintaining the melted state of the filtered medium. Method for determining filtering properties of ceramic filters includes a preparatory step, where a filtered medium is prepared by heating a mixture of halogenides of alkali metals of equimolar composition and fine oxides to temperature, exceeding melting point of chlorides, but not exceeding fusion point of fine-dispersed oxides; main stage, where filtered medium is passed through tested filter, at that temperature obtained at the first stage is maintained and continuous filtration of medium is performed, and the filtration process is carried out so that inside the test sample of the filter there is no maximum filling with the filtrate, for which excess filtrate is collected; final stage, at which productivity and fineness of filtration of tested ceramic filters are determined. To determine nominal flow rate of the filtrate, the total weight of the filtrate collected at the second stage is divided by the total sampling time. To determine specific consumption of filtrate, the obtained value of nominal flow rate of the filtrate is divided by the free area of the side filtering surface of the test sample of the filter, defined as 2πRL, where R is the outer radius of the test sample of the filter, L is the length of the test sample of the filter in the filtered medium. In order to determine nominal fineness of filtration, particle size of that fraction of fine oxides is determined, which is detected in filtrate taken at the second stage at preset reduction rate. To determine absolute fineness of filtration, maximum sizes of particles of fine-dispersed oxides are determined in filtrate taken at the second stage. EFFECT: possibility of determining efficiency and fineness of filtration of ceramic filters.
