The socio-demographic processes of the last decades in the Russian Federation, associated with a low birth rate, poverty of families with children, make it urgent to reform the support system for this category. The existing system of support for families with children has significant regional specificity, due to the demographic and socio-economic state of the regions, and is expressed in differences in the number, conditions and scope of measures provided. In accordance with this, the purpose of this article is an attempt to analyze the existing measures of state support for families with children at the regional level using the example of the Sverdlovsk region. Based on the analysis of research by Russian scientists, regulatory and statistical information, a description was given to the system of measures to support families with children that has developed in the Sverdlovsk region. To identify the problems of obtaining support measures, the authors conducted a sociological study using the online survey method (N = 412). As a result, the satisfaction of families with children with the received support measures was determined, the main problems of obtaining them were identified, as well as the opinion of families with children on the directions of improving this system.
