Due to the high uncertainty, companies have to work in an unstable environment filled with constant changes and the emergence of new obstacles, so they must find tools that allow them not only to cope with market fluctuations, but also to help them take a leading position. One of such tools is strategic flexibility and market orientation, there is a lot of scientific literature on these tools and their impact on the company’s efficiency, however, the question of the effectiveness and mutual influence of tools among themselves and on the company has not been sufficiently investigated, only a few scientific papers of foreign researchers address the issue of the mutual influence of strategic flexibility and market orientation of certain enterprises. spheres. The article presents the results of research on the impact of market orientation and strategic flexibility on the efficiency of manufacturing enterprises in the energy sector of Russia, as well as the mutual influence of indicators among themselves. A questionnaire based on the Likert scale was developed, it was sent to managers of energy sector companies to collect data. As a result of the research, an analysis of the scientific literature was carried out to identify the definition of strategic flexibility, the orientation of the organization to the market and efficiency, both the opinions of Russian and foreign researchers were considered, common similarities in understanding were identified and a definition was formulated. Hypotheses about the mutual influence of indicators were identified, which were proved empirically during the study.
