FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to scintillation spectrometers of ionizing radiations. Core of invention is that scintillation signals and avalanche noise pulses from the output of a silicon photomultiplier, before they come to the scintillation pulses integrator, are branched into the main and auxiliary channels, and herewith in the auxiliary channel, using a significant, not less than 10 times, difference in durations of scintillation and avalanche noise pulses, the scintillation pulses are shortened to a duration comparable with the duration of initial avalanche noise pulses, and then, by means of non-linear or time-variant transformations, modified noise pulses are identified, scaled so that their areas correspond to the ones of initial avalanche noise pulses and sent for summation with the scintillation signals and the avalanche noise pulses of the first channel with polarity opposite to the one of avalanche noise pulses in the main channel, after which the obtained additive flow of scintillation signals and avalanche noise pulses from the main channel and modified noise pulses of the auxiliary channels is sent to the scintillation signals integrator input, where the final in-pair compensation of the avalanche noise pulses transmitted through both channels is performed.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of collecting light from the scintillation crystals.
