The article is devoted to borrowed names of bushes in dialects of the European North of Russia. Discusses the widespread borrowings from Saami, which is the subject of detailed etymological development involving data from Saami dialects. Comment on the semantic differences based on extralinguistic information. Reconstruction of the lost semantic links is carried out. Commented on the internal form of lexemes: revealed signs of underlying names are of the same type on the internal form of Russian dialectal designations. The lines of semantic derivation are built with the divergence of the semantics of the etymon and the analyzed Russian lexeme. Widely involved in extra-linguistic data to substantiate the etymology of lexemes. All etymologies are built with broad participation from the data of botany.
