In the article, Alexius Meinong’s theory of object is analyzed in order to explore the relation of reality and actuality. Ontological and epistemological status of objects remains a hotly debated issue in philosophy. The author assesses Meinong’s contribution to this debate on the basis of historical-philosophical approach. It is argued that his philosophy can be considered an outcome of Austrian philosophical culture whose main feature was realism.
