The relevance of the study is based on the fact that the need for distance learning requires a university lecturer to do special work to improve the quality of education amid the pandemic. The given article aims at solving the following problem: what are the measures for the adaptation of first-year students to educational activities in the conditions of distance learning? The main measures for the adaptation of first-year students have a universal structure; they can be used by teachers of different areas of student training and be supplemented with specific professional training tools. We consider as indicators of the effectiveness of measures for the adaptation of first-year students the following: the ability to give the educational process the desired direction and adapt subjective and objective environmental conditions for a successful educational process; satisfaction with the personal activity aspect of being in a new social role - a university student; adaptation of productive activities and the desire to self-actualize, which are manifested in the academic performance of students and the desire to realize their learning potential; the optimal psycho-emotional state when communicating with teachers. The article discusses measures, traditional and developed by the authors, for the adaptation of first-year students.
