There are covered the issues of the comparative linguistic culture studies, scientific and methodological aspects of linguistic cultural knowledge in the process of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The subject of research is the concept “modesty” in the Russian and the Chinese linguistic cultures, the research basis are synonymic lines and paremies in the two linguistic cultures, the results of the associative experiment.
