The paper focuses on the history of Jewish religious community in the city of Sverdlovsk (contemporary Yekaterinburg) during the Great Patriotic war. Based on archival sources, statistics and memories of older citizens who were in Sverdlovsk during the war, the article reconstructs dynamics of Jewish population of the city and some details of the life of the community.
