The creation of metallurgical micro-plants based on the processing of scrap metal into specialized long products with an annual production volume of 50,0 to 100,0 thousand tons is undoubtedly relevant. At the same time, from the point of view of the degree of loading of the rolling mill with special types of rolled metal consumed at the regional level, the organization of production of grinding balls (bodies) within the micro-plant fits into its system of technologies almost perfectly. The results of industrial studies on the end-to-end quality evaluation of continuously cast billets, rolled products and grinding balls in the context of an integrated specialized metallurgical micro-plant are presented. It is shown that with a comprehensive solution of technological issues, it is possible to obtain high quality finished rolled products. In particular, with regard to the production of grinding balls ш 60 mm, the optimization of technological parameters made it possible to guarantee the production of group V hardness when using steel 75, cast with the protection of the jet from secondary oxidation.
