For a Tychonoff space , we obtain a criterion of the -countable compactness of the space of continuous real-valued functions with the set-open topology. In particular, for extremally disconnected space , we prove that the space is a -countably compact space if and only if is a pseudocompact space, the set of all -points of is dense in , and the family consists of finite subsets of .
