53 people took part in the study of the resilience and individual psychological characteristics of parents raising children with severe speech impairments (SSI), including 37 parents raising children with SSI and 16 parents raising children with no disabilities. The study used: Muddy’s resilience test, the “Coping with stress” questionnaire, diagnostics of personality self-actualization (SAMOAL). In the course of the work, a connection was revealed between the resilience of parents of children with SSI and their individual psychological characteristics. Such a component of resilience as “control” is more pronounced in parents of children with SSI. There were revealed positive links between the level of resilience and a number of parameters of coping strategies, aspects of individual self-regulation and self-actualization. Thus, parents of children with SSI are able to highlight significant conditions for achieving goals both in the current situation and in the future, which can be manifested in the detailed planning of their activities and, accordingly, the ability to achieve results in relation to the set goals. Indicators of spontaneity can provide parents of children with SSI in the face of unexpectedly changing circumstances the ability to flexibly change the model of significant conditions and, accordingly, the program of action. Comparative analysis showed that parents of children with SSI have significant differences on the scales “Active coping”, “Planning coping”, “Acceptance” and “Autonomy”, that is, in difficult conditions, they are able to actively and confidently cope with emerging situations aim to level or compensate them. However, parents of children with SSI are more inclined to refuse to achieve the goal, to regulate efforts aimed at interacting with the stressor, which may require psychocorrectional support and intervention.
