Whether local economic structures proceed to exist in the era of globalization, and if it is really so, what their peculiarities are, what goals are pursued by them, and how they might be controlled in the most effective way – here are the main questions this paper tries to answer. The theoretic foundations for the research are as follows: Porter’s cluster theory, glocalization concept, and system theory. A set of communication models with manufacturing agents has proved to be the main research instrument. With these models usage, possible control types in a local economic structure (community) were determined. After several series of experiments, it was revealed that an effective system control vector can be formed by components of the following types: institutional control, composition control, structure control, and functioning control.
