The work deals topical issues of formation of information culture of a person through the reading institution. The authors on the example of the "Virus reading", realized at the Chelyabinsk information portal Mediazavod.ru consider the problem of using new information technologies. The paper presents principles of organizational activity, analyzed the typical errors that occur during the implementation of this kind of cultural projects.
