City environment and city lifestyle raise the intensity of daily movements. Spheres of life are disposed in the city space: some places are used for working and others for leisure. That is why a person should move to change social role. Today’s status-role performances of behavior patterns unavoidably include daily movements. It is especially important for young people. The main characteristic of young city dwellers as a social group is the participation in the identity finding in social structure. They try new social roles and explore the city space. This article is devoted to the changing role of everyday movements in the system of reproduction of social relations in leisure practices of young city dwellers. The empirical base of the article consists of survey, semi-structured interview and secondary data analysis. Obtained research results allow defining three types of daily movement routes in leisure practices of young city dwellers. These routes differ in role expectations and movement directions in the city space. First routes maintain friendship and take place in the central part of the city. Second ones reproduce family relationships and are connected with peripheral urban areas. Third routes recreate behavior patterns of a certain way of life within the residential area.
