The paper provides an analysis of housing and utility administration companies’ interaction with external environment. The investigation is carried out by the method of SWOT analysis. As a base of market opportunities and threats’ assessment, and also strengths and weaknesses of a company the author offers the next list of parameters: demand factor; competition factor; economic factor; political and law factors; scientific and technical factors; social factors. The analysis separates out key strengths and weaknesses, and also opportunities and threats of external environment according to these factors. In order to compare a company’s opportunities with a market state, the author has made a matrix of SWOT analysis. On the crosses of matrix there four areas: strength and opportunity; strength and threats; weakness and opportunity; weakness and threats. On the each area the paper considers all possible combinations and marks out the combinations should be taken into account in strategic planning of an administration company’s activity. There are some recommendations for imperfection of efficient interaction’s mechanism of housing and utility administration companies and external environment. The analysis outcomes have a practical significance; the developed algorithm of SWOT analysis can be used by housing and utility administration companies and municipal governing boards.
