An urgent problem of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy enterprises is the specific consumption reduction of refractory products per ton of production. Among the factors that significantly reduce the specific consumption in steel production, one can single out the use / complete replacement of piece molded products with unshaped materials. Thus, the current work purpose is magnesian-carbon concrete obtaining possibility study based on hydraulic binders for lining a steel teeming ladle. The magnesian-carbon concretes obtaining experience was studied. The possibility of using periclase raw materials as a filler for the production of low-cement magnesia concrete on hydraulic binders has been proved. A carbon component input types were selected for castables matrix introduction. One of the promising areas for further research is the low-carbon periclase concretes concept development using ultrafine carbon materials with a crystal structure perfection high degree.
