Orientation to the social goals of sustainable development is manifested in Russia in the implementation of national projects in the social sphere. Investments in social programs are primarily aimed at improving the quality of life, but in the future economic benefits are acquired. Investments in the social sphere are necessary to ensure the vital needs of the population and maintain social stability in society. In accordance with the requirements of modernity, social goals should be solved in a new digital environment. Therefore, the formation of a digital social space in the Russian economy is relevant. The aim of the article is to evaluate national projects on digital transformation in Russia connected to the social sphere. The basis of this study was made up of state programs and projects, from which the social component was singled out and the decomposition of the model for the formation of a digital social space was developed. As a result, the authors found that the basis of state programs are goals for the digital transformation of the entire economy, the social sphere is inscribed in the context of these programs, but sometimes clear tasks and mechanisms for the digital transformation of the social sphere are not comprehensively presented. The author’s decomposition of the digital social space formation model identifies indicators: goal, targets, potential effects, potential risks of ignoring digital transformation, directions, mechanisms. Relying on them allows you to see the efficiency and effects of social investments.
