The article is devoted to the problem of interethnic stability and socio-cultural adaptation of migrants, which is relevant for modern Russia. The article presents approaches to the study of the concept of “alienation” based on the theoretical and practical developments of philosophy, sociology and psychology. The article analyses the experience of practical psychology in order to determine the best methods for preventing ethnic alienation: psychodiagnostics, counseling, education and training groups. Examples of implementation of ethno-cultural and cross-cultural training programmes are described.
