The composition of the base of national standards for the metallurgical industry section 77 ”Metallurgy ” is considered in accordance with the structure of the all-Russian classifier of standards OK 001-2021. The picture of the distribution of standards by classification groups of section 77 and the time intervals for their adoption is shown. The level of updating the base of standards adopted before and after 2000 by classification groups and subgroups of section 77 is shown. The main directions for updating standards for the metallurgical industry are identified.
