The article discusses the technology of choosing the different steps of milling cutters for processing metal products. The existing methods of designing multistep milling cutters aimed at reducing the probability of resonant during milling are analyzed. A new method of designing milling cutters with non-repeating steps and a addition to it, providing a reduction of their imbalance, is proposed. A study of the frequencies of forced oscillations during milling is carried out using examples of milling cutters developed by the proposed method.
