The article explains the methodology for compiling and structuring a glossary of terms related to the preservation and actualization of industrial heritage sites. The formulation of the question is due to the lack of an accurate, systemically built categorical apparatus in this, interdisciplinary and relatively young, sphere of applied scientific knowledge. The main contradictions in the work with industrial heritage objects are highlighted and characterized. The author‘s stages by elaborating of the glossary are substantiated.
