The article presents the results of solving a volumetric problem of determining stressedly deformed metal in the instantaneous deformation zone while clamping by the rolls of a pilger mill. It provides energy curves, curves of longitudinal stresses and shearing stresses along the length and perimeter of the instantaneous deformation zone. The calculation procedure for dynamic forces in the pilger mill driveline under the shell clamping is presented as well.
